To develop, implement, and maintain application systems supporting the Geodetic Survey Section's business operations 

Seconded to our clients of public sector to perform the followings: 

• To participate in all phases of the SatRef system and associated IT projects. This includes developing new programs, enhancing/maintaining existing ones, conducting rigorous testing (program, system, and user acceptance), and preparing job control procedures for trial and production runs;
• To enhance and maintain the RINEX (Receiver Independent Exchange Format) generation program;
• To participate in the development of the SatRef Dashboard using Grafana to monitor various system components effectively;
• To  maintain and enhance existing web-based coordinates transformation tool and the Coordinate Transformation API service;
• To prepare and maintain comprehensive program documentation, including data and API specifications, to support future system enhancements and bug fixing; and
• To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  
  
  
  
  
  
   

• Degree holder in Computer Science, equivalent or above;
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification IT experience with at least 1 years of experience in similar capacity
• hold a Hong Kong degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification;
• possess strong knowledge of software development in a Windows environment using C#.NET/VB.NET, including web-based applications (ASP.NET, HTML, XML, JavaScript) and desktop applications connected to MS-SQL Server or PostgreSQL; 
• proficiency in SQL query writing and performance tuning, including execution plan analysis, index optimization, and query rewriting for improved performance;
• possess hands-on experience in web programming;
• have at least 5 years of experience with ASP.NET Core / .NET 5 or above;
• have at least 5 years of experience with Entity Framework Core (EF Core);
• have at least 5 years of experience creating RESTful APIs and developing API documentation using Swagger / OpenAPI (OAS) in YAML format;
• have at least 3 years of experience designing and writing API test cases for RESTful services;
• have hands-on experience designing and delivering a queue-based background processing system from scratch, including defining message contracts/routing and implementing a scalable competing-consumers worker model to offload long-running tasks and handle traffic spikes;
• have at least 3 years of experience using Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) for analysis;
• have at least 3 years of experience using Grafana for development;
• have at least 6 years of experience in the field of Information Technology, of which at least 3 years must be in a role similar to the present post;
• possess experience processing RINEX data to support application development, along with knowledge of RINEX data standards will be an advantage.
